Spain Capture Bronze // 26 July 2009

Spain nearly blew a 20-point lead before holding on to beat Italy 75-72 and capture the bronze medal at the U20 European Championship.

Pere Tomas scored 18 points while Pablo Aguilar had 14 points and Sergio De La Fuente added 13 points for Spain, who have still not won a U20 gold but captured their seventh overall medal and fourth bronze.

Greece Into Final // 25 July 2009

Kostas Sloukas and Charalampos Giannopoulos combined for 33 points, including eight in the final 90 seconds, as Greece made another date with the final by beating Spain 87-76 in the semi-finals of the U20 European Championship.

Aguilar Leads Spain Into Semis // 24 July 2009

Pablo Aguilar scored 10 of his 12 points in a crucial 10-0 fourth quarter run to carry Spain to the semi-finals of the U20 European Championship with a 77-60 victory over Turkey.

Xavier Rabaseda led the way with 18 points and four steals while Pere Tomas had 14 points and nine rebounds and Mamadou Samb added 13 points and seven rebounds for Spain, who out-rebounded Turkey 43-33 including 17 offensive rebounds.
